The 7 Ladders Canyon is the main attraction around Brasov. Located in the western part of the Piatra Mare Mountains at an altitude of 948 meters, the canyon is made up of several gorges carved into the Jurassic limestone. Further on, traces of recent morphological evolution can be observed. The name “7 Ladders” is due to the seven steps that were formed as a result of slope breaks. When the volume of the 7 Ladders Creek increases, the steps turn into cascades that are as impressive as they are soothing.

New hikes and experiences at 7 Ladders Canyon for the whole family

Crossing the Canyon: Tourists can now cross the Canyon using the system of nine metal ladders and walkways, which have been completely renovated for the safety of tourists of all ages.

The interior of the Canyon is characterized by the 7 steps with heights ranging from 2.5 to 15 meters that turn into waterfalls when the volume of the 7 Ladders creek increases.

The tallest of the 7 cascades is 35 meters high and is a spectacle of nature. Crossing the canyon takes no more than 30 minutes.

Tourists can cross the canyon with great ease, as the completely renovated and modernized system now includes nine secure metal ladders and aid platforms.

No high-performance equipment is required. Children, on the other hand, will only cross the canyon accompanied by an adult. No entry is allowed into the canyon during winter.

What would it be like to go from Timișul de Jos to Piatra Mare Peak in one day? For tourists who thrive on the beauty and spectacle of nature, no effort is too much. The trail is simple: Dâmbul Morii - 7 Ladders Canyon - Piatra Mare Hut - Piatra Mare Peak and back. Thanks to modernizations and renovations in recent years, crossing the canyon is now easier and safer.

After crossing the canyon, you can return to the base on an easy trail or use the zip-line. If you want to continue your hike and feel you still have enough energy left, then there is a wonderful 2–3-hour hike to the Piatra Mare Peak.

One of the most beautiful places in Romania. The entrance to the canyon is made after a climb that takes an hour, an hour and a half depending on how much you hurry. There is a 10 lei fee for entrance and descent, and you can rent zip-line equipment for a fee, which costs 100 lei but the experience is great and it’s worth all the money.

Visiting this landmark is very interesting. The access and the waterfall as well as the surrounding places are impressive. The trail up and the descent are not difficult but you need a bit of training and skill. The trail from the parking lot and back, including the visit time can take about 3 hours but it is worth the effort. It's very welcome to place several zip-lines, some of them quite long, on the descent trail to complete the adrenaline rush.
